Hey I just met you
And this is crazy
But you’re the host of an internationally renowned comedy program where I worked for for six years before getting my own hosting gig two blocks over and I still think about you all the time especially since my character is totally gay for you and you’re here all the time because you’re the executive producer and that makes it difficult for me to get over you in case you haven’t noticed.
So call me maybe. You are my favourite person.
Reblogging this again because ^
Jon has actually said that he and Stephen don’t see each other in person that often anymore.

I wanted to love Stephen Colbert but his interview with Melissa Harris-Perry, where she discusses black female stereotypes and, briefly,The Help (and Stephen makes his ignorance very clear) is enough to stop me from ever committing to The Colbert Report.
…
Right, because Stephen Colbert is a terrible, hateful bastard who denies rights to transgendered people and drinks the blood of black people. You figured it out, good for you. The lack of a period at the end of your last sentence is enough to stop me from ever committing to the idea that you are a credible person.

Hear me out. I’m not talking about a live action fandom such as a movie or TV show where characters are played, I’m talking about those of you who might be fans of actors or musicians, ect. I get shipping, and I have quite a few myself, but draw the line at characters. It’s one thing to ship some fictional people, be it animated or live action, but to get into someone’s personal life? That’s disrespectful and it’s also creepy. So what you have feels? That doesn’t make you right. That is a living, breathing human being with emotions and a right to a personal, private life. Especially if they’re in a committed relationship that has nothing to do with your ship. It’s even worse if you try to make them straight or gay when they identify otherwise.
I mean holy shit. I wouldn’t talk to any of my fans for fear that I might run into one of the few delusional people who don’t know how to tone it down. Some crazy mother fucker who thinks I’m humping my best male friend, when I’m clearly making babies with my fine ass wife (or porking my hot female co-star when I’m having sex with my awesome husband.) If you’re joking, that’s great, but being hardcore about something like this?

I’m going to get some hate for this, but you can’t deny that legitimately prying into a human being’s personal life and warping their image to fit yours is fucked up. It gives their fans a bad name, and it makes everyone around that person think they have some kind of stupid, weird following.
